The city of Tampa is set to host the eighth annual Women’s Conference of Florida on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Tampa Convention Center. Since its launch in 2015, this empowering event has continuously strived to uplift women across the state through a unique blend of inspiring speakers, engaging workshops, and invaluable networking ventures. This year’s conference aims to infuse the holiday spirit into its agenda, promising a lively and encouraging atmosphere for all attendees.
The conference was established to create a distinct platform where women can come together to share experiences and insights. Over the years, it has blossomed into the only statewide gathering of its kind, attracting more than 2,000 attendees each year. The core focus areas include health, leadership, relationships, and pay equity, addressing key challenges women face today.
This year’s event showcases an exciting lineup of keynote speakers, including Jamie Kern Lima, founder of IT Cosmetics, Shellye Archambeau, a seasoned Fortune 500 board member and former CEO of MetricStream, and Lisa Sun, founder of GRAVITAS. Each speaker is set to share their unique journey and insights, igniting inspiration among attendees.
In addition to the keynote addresses, the conference will feature multiple sessions that delve into various topics. These include turning expertise into consulting practices, opportunities for board memberships, and launching entrepreneurial ventures. Participants can also explore the Gallup CliftonStrengths approach, designed to help individuals identify and leverage their strengths.
For those planning to attend, timing is key. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to ensure ample time for parking and navigating the venue. This year also introduces a curated vendor marketplace featuring women-owned businesses such as Kendra Scott, Fabletics, and Cocoa Lillie. The event will also host book signings with keynote speakers Jamie Kern Lima and Lisa Sun, enhancing the day’s experience.
As part of its commitment to community upliftment, the 2024 Women’s Conference of Florida will welcome 60 low-income, academically qualified college women from Florida’s colleges and universities, granting them free access through the College Women on the Rise program. This initiative has already benefited 450 women since its inception, distributing $96,000 in educational scholarships.
Furthermore, the initiative will extend its reach to 40 junior and senior girls from low-income households at King High School and Hillsborough High School, supporting them through the Girl Rise program. The conference also collaborates with local organizations such as Champions for Children and Metropolitan Ministries to further community goals and initiatives.
This year, as the conference coincides with the holiday season, attendees can look forward to a festive and jubilant atmosphere. The Women’s Conference of Florida not only aims to empower women during the event but also seeks to foster a sense of community and shared purpose among all who attend.
As the date approaches, excitement is building for an event that promises to be both enlightening and enriching for all participants.
