Exciting New Drivers Coming from TaylorMade for 2025!

Golf enthusiasts, gather around because big news is on the horizon! It looks like TaylorMade is once again stepping up their game for 2025, following a smashing year with their driver line-up in 2024. Last year’s highlights included the fabulous Qi10 Max, which was lauded as one of the best draw-bias drivers out there. Not to be outdone, the Qi10 LS offered golfers a fantastic low-spin option, and the Qi10 was simply the all-round champion for any golfer looking for performance.

Now, as we peek into what TaylorMade is cooking up for next year, we can hardly contain our excitement! While nothing is officially announced yet, we’ve got some juicy tidbits to share. Three brand-new driver head models named the TaylorMade Qi35 have just popped up on the USGA Conforming List. The ‘Qi’ seems to stand for “Quest for Inertia,” a clever nod to the brand’s ongoing innovation in club design. But what about the ‘35’? Well, we have no clue yet, but don’t worry, we’ll fill you in once we know more!

What We Know About the Qi35 Drivers

Based on the black-and-white images submitted to the USGA, we can share what we know about these new models. First up, we have the standard version of the TaylorMade Qi35. This club features two interchangeable weights just like its predecessor, the Qi10. The front weight seems to be around 3g, but we’re not sure about the back weight just yet. Notably, the back weight is positioned more centrally in the Qi35 compared to its predecessor which had the weight more towards the heel. And yes, the popular speed pocket behind the clubface is still there, so expect the same explosive power.

As for loft options, we’re seeing this driver come in 9° and 10.5°, but curiously, there’s no 12° listed. However, fear not, there’s an adjustable hosel making it easy to loft up if you choose the 10.5° option.

Max and Low-Spin Versions

Next on the list is the Qi35 Max, which is likely to be the model packed with forgiveness – a must-have for so many golfers. It features a single back weight with the intriguing label “10kg-cm²,” which hints at its impressive MOI. You’ll also find the familiar speed pocket in this version, ensuring speedy ball flight with every swing. Just like the standard Qi35, the Qi35 Max comes in 9° and 10.5° options.

Then we have the Qi35 LS, the low-spin option. This delight comes equipped with two weights at the front, each looking like they’re around 3g. One of the weights is marked with “draw,” and the other with “fade,” making it a finely tuned, workable driver. As with its siblings, the LS also sports the speed pocket. This driver is available in lofts of 8°, 9°, and 10.5°, ensuring that players can fine-tune their shot mechanics.

How the USGA Approval Works

Now you might be wondering what it means for these drivers to be on the USGA list? Every golf club that competes in tournaments has to be approved by the United States Golf Association (USGA). They check each model to ensure it meets all the rules and specifications. Only once a driver has received that all-important thumbs-up can it be used in competitive play. While some manufacturers sell non-conforming gear, it usually caters to a niche market. But, for the serious golfers looking to compete, conforming is the way to go!

As we gear up for another thrilling year in golf, keep your eyes peeled for all the amazing updates that TaylorMade has in store. With the new Qi35 drivers making waves even before their official release, it looks like 2025 could be a fantastic year to hit the greens!
