Sponsor Our ArticlesSt. Petersburg is embarking on a major housing transformation with the development of the Terraces at 87th Avenue Townhomes. Following eight years of planning, the City Council has approved a project that will replace the old Lamplight Mobile Home Park with 92 townhomes and luxurious amenities. This revitalization promises to enhance the local community and provide a more sustainable living environment, complete with eco-friendly features and a strong community vibe.
St. Petersburg is buzzing with excitement as the city takes a big step toward a brand-new housing project that has been years in the making! The site of the old Lamplight Mobile Home Park is set to become the stunning Terraces at 87th Avenue Townhomes. After eight years of planning and development, the St. Petersburg City Council unanimously gave the green light for the site plan on February 20. This change is sure to have a positive impact on the local community!
The second phase of this ambitious initiative will see the addition of 92 beautiful townhome units in the northeast part of the city—an area that has seen its share of challenges due to its coastal high-hazard status. But fear not! Builders at Belleair Development Group (BDG) have their game faces on, completing the first phase of the project back in December 2024, which involved 16 lovely townhomes.
BDG, hailing from Pinellas Park, is taking bold steps to revitalize the neighborhood. They purchased the Lamplight property for a cool $3.4 million back in January 2018. Initially, the plan was to replace 112 crumbling mobile homes with market-rate rentals, but the vision has evolved into a more ambitious project that promises to enhance the beauty and living conditions of the area.
These stunning new townhomes are available in three or four-bedroom options and come with some pretty impressive features. Expected price tags start at approximately $800,000, but the amenities are well worth the investment. Owners will enjoy luxuries such as four-car garages, rooftop terraces to soak up that lovely Florida sunshine, and even the convenience of electric vehicle charging wiring!
So, as we watch St. Petersburg evolve with this exciting project, it’s clear that the future is bright—filled with modern homes, delightful amenities, and a commitment to sustainability. Stay tuned as we keep you updated on all the wonderful developments to come!
