Sponsor Our ArticlesCitizens Financial Group has launched its first private banking office in Palm Beach, investing $35 million to enhance its wealth management services. With a dedicated team of 25 professionals, including trust and wealth experts, the office aims to cater to the growing number of high-net-worth clients in the area. The new location emphasizes personalized banking solutions and positions Citizens to capitalize on opportunities following the recent banking landscape changes.
Guess what, Palm Beach? Citizens Financial Group has just made a spectacular entrance into the world of private banking right in our backyard at 400 Royal Palm Way, also known as “Bankers Row.” This exciting new venture marks the opening of their very first private banking office in this upscale location, and it’s all part of a bold strategy that sees the bank investing a hefty $35 million to expand its wealth management services across major markets in the U.S.
Located in a swanky area, the Palm Beach office is now up and running, thanks to a recent move that has brought together a dedicated team of 25 professionals. Leading this dynamic group is Executive Managing Director James Meany, who has transitioned from his previous role at First Republic Bank. This office is expected to be fully operational by April following a few cosmetic renovations that ensure it meets the high demands of its clientele.
Initially, the plan was to have just 11 employees, but the demand for private wealth services in Palm Beach has created a hiring surge, with the office employee count now shooting up to 25. This bump reflects the increased deposit market share and a noticeable rise in interest for personalized banking services in this affluent community.
The talented team here not only includes private bankers and relationship managers but also encompasses trust professionals and wealth advisors, many of whom have journeyed over from the acquired First Republic Bank. In fact, Citizens Financial Group has successfully onboarded over 200 private bankers and wealth professionals from First Republic, establishing a strong network of private banking branches across various cities.
Currently, the Citizens Private Bank is proudly serving over 400 high-net-worth individuals and families in Florida. Interestingly, a surge of younger professionals relocating from big finance cities is driving this trend. Many of these new clients are choosing to make Palm Beach their permanent home, spending an average of nine to ten months annually on the island, indicating a vibrant shift from seasonal tourism to year-round residency.
One of the standout features of Citizens’ new private banking service is its emphasis on providing a tailored approach to client needs. Gone are the days of one-size-fits-all solutions. Every service is customized based on each client’s unique circumstances, helping to foster strong relationships and ensuring clients feel truly valued and understood.
In this evolving landscape, they can leverage the expertise and relationships built by the former First Republic team, promising high-quality service at its private banking branches. With an eye on the future, the bank is positioning itself not just to thrive but to lead in offering specialized private banking services in Palm Beach and beyond.
With all the foundational work underway and a dedicated team in place, it’s an exciting time for Palm Beach. Citizens Financial Group looks ready to shake things up in the private banking sector. Keep your eyes peeled; a new era in personalized wealth management is taking root right here in our community!
