Orlando, Florida, is set to welcome the first location of KFC’s brand-new dining concept, Saucy, on Monday, December 23. This fresh restaurant, adorned in vibrant neon shades of pink and orange, aims to offer a unique twist on the classic KFC experience, focusing primarily on boneless chicken tenders and an array of complements that highlight flavor.
The menu at Saucy is designed to indulge customers in a flavorful journey, featuring 11 distinct sauces that range from sweet and spicy to savory and smoky. Diners can choose from these sauces individually or opt for a “flight” of sauces, which allows for a sampling of multiple flavors. In addition to the regular offerings, limited-time sauces will also make appearances throughout the year, ensuring there’s always something new for patrons to try.
Christophe Poirier, KFC’s Chief New Concept Officer, emphasized the freshness of the concept, stating, “With Saucy, we’ve taken KFC’s famous Original Recipe® and amplified it with a brand-new concept that lets consumers play with flavor.” Customers will have the option to pick a combo meal or mix and match sauces and sides to create their perfect dish.
Saucy’s menu goes beyond just chicken tenders. It features a series of side orders, including classic crinkle-cut fries, Hawaiian rolls, and coleslaw. For those with a sweet tooth, the dessert selection includes chocolate mousse cake and key lime cake, providing a satisfying conclusion to any meal.
Alongside the food offerings, there will be 11 beverages available, which is a playful nod to KFC’s renowned secret recipe made from 11 herbs and spices. This attention to detail highlights the effort to create a cohesive and engaging dining experience.
While details about additional Saucy locations remain under wraps, the company’s press release hinted at further openings in the near future. A representative was not immediately available to provide specifics, but the excitement surrounding the brand’s new venture is palpable among fans of KFC.
Saucy is part of a growing trend where established food brands are exploring spinoff concepts to adapt to changing consumer preferences. Similar initiatives have been launched by other major chains, including Flip’d from IHOP, which targeted on-the-go consumers but ultimately closed its doors a few years after opening. McDonald’s is successfully operating its CosMc’s concept, focusing on customizable beverages with locations in Illinois and Texas.
As Orlando prepares to embrace KFC’s Saucy, the restaurant is poised to redefine how customers experience fast-food dining. With its focus on customization and diverse flavor profiles, Saucy aims to cater to the modern palate, making it an anticipated addition to the area’s dining scene. Customers can look forward to not just a meal, but a personalized flavor adventure.
