Tragic Murder-Suicide Occurs in New Tampa

New Tampa, FL – A devastating incident unfolded on December 18, 2024, around 6:31 p.m. when Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) received a distressing 911 call reporting a shooting in the 18000 block of Royal Forest Drive.

Details of the Incident

Upon arriving at the scene, deputies found Steven Glantz, 67, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, he was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The unfolding events were captured on local surveillance footage, which showed an individual approaching Glantz’s residence.

The videos revealed that several gunshots rang out, after which the same individual was seen fleeing the area on foot. Deputies initiated a thorough search, assisted by HCSO’s K-9 Section. Just moments later, the search led them to discover Timothy Lobianco, 66, nearby, with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Lobianco was pronounced dead at the scene.
