With over 30 years of experience in nonprofit management and marketing, Gennari is set to bring fresh energy and innovative strategies to the Tampa Bay organization. His impressive career, coupled with a strong commitment to community service, positions him as a key player in enhancing the organization’s outreach and engagement efforts, particularly for the LGBTQ+ community.
In vibrant Tampa Bay, a wave of new leadership is set to bring fresh energy and creative marketing strategies to CAN Community Health. Justice Gennari has been appointed as the National Director of Marketing, with his official start date marked for January 3, 2024. This seasoned professional is making an exciting transition from his role as President and CEO of the Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber.
Justice Gennari comes to this new position boasting a remarkable 30 years of experience in nonprofit management and marketing. His resume highlights include a significant tenure as a business outreach manager at Equality Florida for six years, where he made substantial contributions towards community engagement and advocacy. Not stopping there, Gennari has also worked with five different chambers of commerce, giving him a well-rounded perspective on organizational dynamics.
In his time with the Tampa Bay LGBT Chamber, Gennari managed all aspects of the organization, focusing heavily on the recruitment and retention of members. His dedication to ensuring that programs, services, and events were successfully delivered has contributed greatly to the growth of the chamber and its members.
Before making his home in Florida, Gennari was in Houston, Texas, where he served as the executive director of Leadership Houston and as the vice president of the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. His educational foundation was laid at none other than Yale University, which undeniably adds to his resume.
Justice has a personality as colorful as his professional history! When it comes to his favorite pastimes, he loves the show “Schitt’s Creek” and enjoys frequenting local coffee shops that serve flavored brews and stock Splenda for those sweet moments. When it comes to social media, he spends ample time on Facebook but has plans to switch to the newer platform, Bluesky.
Bright and early, Gennari rises at 6 a.m. on workdays, ready to tackle the tasks ahead. He believes in making life easier, stating that one of his best life hacks is using scotch tape to gather lint and pet hair. Gennari is also fond of culinary delights, especially his acclaimed Arroz con Pollo, which he can whip up Tex-Mex style.
As Gennari steps into his influential role with CAN Community Health, it’s worth noting that he passionately supports The Trevor Project, reflecting his commitment to the LGBTQ+ community. In addition, his favorite local restaurant is Red Mesa, located in downtown St. Petersburg, a perfect spot for a well-deserved meal after a long day.
Currently, he’s diving into “A Land Remembered” by Patrick Smith as part of his Leadership Florida assignment, showcasing his desire to learn and grow continuously. Alongside his achievements, he humorously recalls that his biggest business failure was the launch of “new” Coke, proving even industry veterans have their misses.
Speaking of adventures, Gennari recently enjoyed a fun trip on a Virgin Voyages cruise to the Bahamas. He has fond memories of his first car, a Datsun F10, and his first cell phone, famously known as “The Brick.” On a lighter note, he has endured a few moments of trouble as a child for misdirected bottle rockets—definitely a mischievous childhood memory!
With his extensive background and vibrant personality, Justice Gennari is poised to make a significant impact at CAN Community Health, an organization dedicated to providing inclusive and accessible healthcare services for diverse communities, particularly those affected by HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. As he embarks on this new chapter, Gennari embodies the spirit of optimism and dedication that is essential for leading meaningful change within the community.
