This week, the sun shines bright on golf lovers as the 2025 golf promotional program kicks off, thanks to the enthusiastic team from Ireland. They’ve landed at the PGA Show, one of the largest golf exhibitions in the United States, situated in sunny Orlando, Florida. With a history of attracting around 30,000 golf professionals and journalists last year, it’s the ideal spot for showcasing what the beautiful island of Ireland has to offer.
What makes 2025 such an exciting year for Irish golf enthusiasts? In July, The Open will return to the stunning Royal Portrush, and come September, the Irish Open will take the spotlight at The K Club. These events promise to bring a whirlwind of activity and interest in golfing vacations to the island, while Tourism Ireland gears up to potentially tap into the many spectators and participants eager for a chance to play where the pros do.

Just before the opening of the PGA Show, a special Ireland Golf Day was held at the Reunion Resort & Golf Club, attracting roughly 120 golf professionals and buyers. The event served as an exquisite preview of Ireland’s rich golfing landscape.
On day two of the show, a compelling panel discussion unfolded featuring some prominent names in the golfing world. Topics ranged from the exciting return of The Open to Royal Portrush to discussions about the upcoming Ryder Cup at Adare Manor set for 2027. With thoughts shared among golf experts and industry leaders, it certainly stirred the interest and enthusiasm of those present.
For 2025, Tourism Ireland is chiefly targeting the American golf market. As the head of North America for Tourism Ireland expressed, this market holds a special place in their plans. Earlier this year, twelve Irish tourism operators made their way to the IAGTO North America Golf Tourism Convention in Michigan, where they rubbed shoulders with over 300 golf and travel professionals. It was a fantastic chance to engage in one-to-one appointments and hammer out contracts for future adventures.
This is not the only opportunity Tourism Ireland is seizing. They have been active participants in other international IAGTO conventions, including those in Abu Dhabi and Málaga, helping to extend their reach even further. And as if that’s not enough, the team is also set to showcase their offerings at the prestigious BMW International Open in Germany, where four notable tourism operators, including Green Golf Ball and The iNUA Collection, will strut their stuff.
