Dougoud was indeed nabbed on July 16, thanks to the combined efforts of all those who were targeted. “Mr. Dougoud was stealing these golf clubs to basically sell or trade them for money or other valuables—that’s what landed him the serious organized retail theft charge,” said Sergeant Aaron Bolin, making it clear this was no ordinary case of a reckless grab. As Savoie noted, “If you’re seeing clubs at prices way below the retail norm, that’s a big, bright warning sign that something fishy is going on!”
