The club, now New England’s only heathland-style golf course, offers a stunning 279-acre venue featuring a nationally ranked par-70 course. With additional amenities like novice-level holes, a full-service restaurant, and a state-of-the-art training facility, Fox Run Golf Club is set to become a prime location for golf enthusiasts and families alike.
Golf enthusiasts and locals, get ready! The beloved Okemo Valley Golf Club has transformed into the all-new Fox Run Golf Club after a stunning acquisition by Fox Run Properties LLC. This change comes after an impressive $2.71 million transaction and extensive renovations aimed at bringing an exciting new experience to the golf scene.
In 2018, Vail Resorts took ownership of the golf club as part of their acquisition of the Okemo Mountain ski resort. Fast forward to today, and the Ozarks and the Green Mountains will now welcome many avid golfers to this premier golf destination. The club spans a sprawling 279 acres and boasts a nationally ranked par-70 course that golfers can’t wait to test their skills on!
Before the acquisition was finalized, the renovations were already in motion thanks to McAlpine Contracting. The first phase of these renovations has brought significant upgrades to the course and its amenities, all designed to enhance the golfing experience. Phase II and Phase III are already planned for the future and will include exciting hospitality options and luxury senior housing components. It looks like there’s a lot to look forward to!
Fox Run Golf Club stands out as New England’s only heathland-style golf course. With a challenging 6,400-yard layout, the course is surrounded by beautiful trees and decorative grasses, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Green Mountains. Each year, around 20,000 rounds of golf are played here, showing just how popular this course is with both locals and visitors alike.
For newcomers to the game or families looking for a fun day out, the club has a four-hole novice-level course available. The holes range from just 60 to 100 yards, making it accessible for all skill levels. Additionally, the club has added six new forward tees and restored sand to 95 bunkers to elevate the golfing experience even further. Plus, new Salsco rolling equipment has been acquired to ensure those greens roll as fast as the competition!
Fox Run Golf Club is welcoming with its 170 private members and public access, making sure no golf enthusiast is left out. The two-story clubhouse is nothing short of impressive, boasting a full-service pro shop, cozy restaurant, and relaxing locker rooms. There’s a 9,200-square-foot clubhouse connecting to a massive indoor training facility of 12,000 square feet, complete with indoor driving nets, a putting green, and simulator for those rainy days.
Speaking of the restaurant, fans will be thrilled to hear about the new dining option – Calcuttas. This eatery serves up modern American cuisine year-round, giving guests a delightful meal after a long day on the course. Outdoor enthusiasts can also find new bocce courts, a horseshoe pit, and future plans for tennis and pickleball courts!
The fun doesn’t stop when the weather turns cold. In winter, the property transforms into the Okemo Valley Nordic Center with 14 miles of Nordic track trails and 8 miles of snowshoeing trails. Plus, adventurers can access the regional snowmobile trail system, complete with indoor parking and gas refilling for those snowy rides.
The transformation of the former Okemo Valley Golf Club into Fox Run Golf Club is more than just a name change. With a focus on enhancing the golfing experience and catering to a variety of interests, this reimagined club is poised to become a bustling hub for socializing and recreation. Whether you’re a golf lover or just searching for a beautiful place to enjoy the outdoors, Fox Run Golf Club is ready to welcome you with open arms!
