Golf enthusiasts, gather ’round! The 2025 DP World Tour is bringing some seriously thrilling changes to the green. With a whopping minimum of 42 tournaments planned across at least 26 countries, this season is shaping up to be one for the books. Golfers and fans alike will be buzzing over the dramatic total prize fund, which is set to reach a groundbreaking $153 million outside of the major championships. Can you believe it?
Mark your calendars because this year, we’re seeing some fantastic tournaments making a comeback! The Austrian and Turkish Opens, along with the Nedbank Golf Challenge, are returning to the tour and they promise to bring their own unique flair. The excitement is palpable as golf fans have been anticipating these tournaments for quite some time.
The tournament structure is getting a fresh twist with a fabulous three-phase setup. First up is the Global Swings, featuring five initial events that kick off the season in style. Then, as we transition into autumn, get ready for the exhilarating Back 9 series. Finally, all the action will culminate in the DP World Tour Play-Offs in November 2025. This structured approach is certainly set to add an extra layer of excitement throughout the year!
Golf fans should note that the Turkish Open is back and will be played at the stunning Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort from May 8-11. It’s been a long six years since we’ve seen this event, so anticipation is through the roof! And for those who love the scenic beauty of the hills, the Austrian Alpine Open is making its return at the lovely Gut Altentann Golf Club from May 29 to June 1. This is the tournament’s first appearance in Austria since 2021, and fans are excited to see the lush landscapes filled with talented golfers once again.
But wait, there’s more! The schedule boasts not one, not two, but three Rolex Series events: the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, Genesis Scottish Open, and the BMW PGA Championship. These prestigious events are sure to shine and showcase the crème de la crème of golf talent. Plus, special highlights include the Team Cup in Abu Dhabi kicking off the season in January and, of course, the ever-exciting Ryder Cup at the renowned Bethpage Black Golf Club from September 26-28.
This year also brings some venue changes that fans should be aware of. The FedEx Open de France is relocating to the stunning Golf de Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche while Le Golf National undergoes renovations. The Amgen Irish Open will once again take place at the prestigious K Club, while the Italian Open finds its home at the beautiful Argentario Golf Club.
And what’s a season without fresh venues? Look out for the Danish Golf Championship and the newly introduced ISCO Championship happening in Louisville, USA. With each tournament, the excitement will carry on, showcasing exhilarating matches and incredible talent from around the globe.
