YuleTides Celebrates the Holiday Season at The Florida Aquarium
Tampa, FL – The Florida Aquarium has launched its brand-new holiday event, YuleTides, offering an immersive experience inspired by coastal holiday traditions worldwide. This seasonal celebration invites guests to explore creative holiday decorations and participate in festive activities, making it an ideal destination for families looking to spread holiday cheer.
What to Expect at YuleTides
YuleTides features an array of attractions that invite guests of all ages to engage in delightful experiences. A main highlight is the Reclaimed Beach Treasures Tree, a magnificent holiday tree standing tall at the aquarium’s entrance, crafted entirely from upcycled beach toys. This artistic creation signifies The Florida Aquarium’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
Another striking centerpiece is the Lighthouse Icon, which majestically towers about 20 feet in the main lobby, adorned with seashell garland and lanterns. This lighthouse serves as both a welcoming beacon and an emblem of the YuleTides event.
Meet Santa and Mrs. Claus
As part of the festive offerings, children will have the opportunity to meet Santa Claus in his ocean-blue robe, complete with stunning rhinestones. Families can take photos with Santa free for members and included in general admission on select dates from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors can also participate in cookie decorating with Mrs. Claus while enjoying a stunning view from the rooftop.
Delicious Treats and Drinks
In keeping with the holiday spirit, guests can enjoy a delightful hot chocolate bar, where they can customize their drinks with various toppings, including brownies and sprinkles. For guests aged 21 and older, holiday-themed cocktails such as the Reindeer Blitz and Mistletoe Margarita are available for purchase.
Musical Festivities
The event features live performances by The Coralers, a talented group of carolers who will delight the audience with marine-inspired renditions of classic holiday songs. Interactive performances are scheduled for select dates at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m., allowing visitors to join in the singing and dancing while enjoying breathtaking views of the bay from the rooftop.
In addition, students from Hillsborough County schools will showcase their musical talents on the aquarium’s rooftop stage, contributing to a vibrant, community-centered celebration.
Family-Friendly Activities
Families can partake in various activities outdoors on the waterfront patio, including lawn games like cornhole and giant Jenga. The aquarium offers free craft stations where children can create their own fingerprint ornaments and decorate seashells or sea star ornaments. Making recycled gift bows will provide a personal touch to holiday gift-giving.

YuleTides at The Florida Aquarium runs from now until January 5, 2025, with the exception of December 25. General admission includes access to this festive celebration, which features exclusive events and activities every weekend.
