Pompano Beach, Florida, is set to experience a significant milestone in luxury real estate. On Monday, a penthouse at the Waldorf Astoria Residences will officially hit the market with an asking price of $20 million. This listing marks it as the most expensive home for sale in the coastal city, situated just north of Fort Lauderdale. The high price tag surpasses a newly listed beachfront mansion priced at $16 million, making it a standout property in the area.
The $20 million penthouse is featured in the Waldorf Astoria Residences Pompano Beach, which represents the luxury hotel chain’s first project dedicated solely to residential living. This unique development includes three additional, more affordable penthouses. The featured unit occupies the top spot on the 28th floor and boasts approximately 6,600 square feet of interior space, offering five bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms.
One of the key highlights of this penthouse is the expansive primary suite. It comes complete with its own living area, a midnight bar, and two spacious wardrobes, each measuring nearly 150 square feet. As noted by Greg Knobloch, the senior development manager at Related Group, the unit provides almost double the square footage compared to most other residences within the building.
The luxurious living does not stop indoors. The penthouse features a private “sky deck” that spans approximately 5,000 square feet, providing breathtaking views of the ocean. The rooftop includes a 1,000-square-foot “sky lounge”, designed with floor-to-ceiling windows and amenities such as a lounge area, a den, and a pool bathroom. Residents can reach this lounge via a private elevator from within the penthouse.
Leading from the sky lounge is an impressive 3,500-square-foot rooftop terrace. This outdoor area includes living space, dining space, a barbecue zone, and a pool — features that are quite uncommon for the area. Such amenities are intended to attract buyers seeking a blend of luxury and relaxation.
Pompano Beach is emerging as a notable destination for upscale living in Florida. The area is developing rapidly, with the Waldorf Astoria Residences set to break ground early next year and complete by the second quarter of 2027. Knobloch remarks, “We see Pompano Beach becoming the next big thing in Florida for luxury living,” pointing out the appeal of stunning beaches and a tranquil lifestyle compared to busier areas like Miami.
Future residents of the Waldorf Astoria Residences will enjoy a beachside café, a residents-only restaurant, and an expansive 20,000-square-foot pool deck. Additionally, beach cabanas will be available for purchase or rent, further enhancing the luxurious lifestyle offered in this exclusive community.
As Pompano Beach continues to evolve, the listing of this penthouse signifies a shift in the luxury real estate market, attracting affluent buyers eager to embrace a lavish lifestyle by the coast. With its remarkable features, extensive amenities, and prime location, this penthouse truly sets a new standard for living in Florida.
